 CHILDREN  SUPPORT SERVICES

STRENGTHENING ORPHAN CHILDREN

At Hawa Children’s Home in Kajiado county Kenya, we strive to support and strengthen each child that we serve by providing vital resources and services they need. We strengthen children through prevention and intervention services as a means to ensure that children feel loved, nurtured and safe. We help many individuals by providing abandoned, street and orphaned children access to basic necessities for their vocational and educational training, financial management, parenting classes, tutoring, and early intervention services.

FINDING & SUPPORTING CHILDREN

We believe that every child in kenya especially the boy child deserves a permanent Family. When a child’s biological parents are not able to provide a safe and loving setting, a relative caregiver, foster or adoptive family are the next best chance for a child to grow and thrive in a loving home. The hawa children’s Home is actively searching to find permanent families for these orphaned children in our care. Thousands of abused and neglected children each year need a new family to love and care for them.

Hawa children's home a centre for street boys runs a program that recruits, trains social workers, foster parents, families and provide the information they need to care for a child searching for a loving family. Providing foster services for children and Kinship Services for each successive year, The Hawa Children’s Home offers support for those children who have grandparents, aunts, uncles, or older siblings who are willing to take them in to help keep the family strong.

HEALING ABUSE AND NEGLECT

At hawa children’s home in Kajiado Kenya, we encourage the street, abandoned, neglected boys in our care to discover their interests, develop their curiosities and understand their past. Hawa Children's Home has created a warm, caring and understanding environment for this encouragement to happen.

At our recognized residential treatment home, we specialize in kenyan children who are victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment, ages 5 and above who are part of a sibling group.

Through the generosity of committed church individual and other groups supporters who generously respond to children’s needs every time a need arise, we are able to provide an orphanage, rescue centre,a rehabilitation centre where counselling, spiritual nourishments, education(schooling)balanced and nutritional meals, clothing and enrichment activities in a clean, nurturing environment.  Boys remain with us until a permanent adoption or foster care parent or family is identified and at own will when fully grown up and is able to stand on his own.

COUNSELING

Through intensive counselling from volunteer professionals and therapy, our orphaned, neglected street boys learn to cope with their past. Our professional and compassionate therapists work individually with children(boys), and when appropriate, parents.  A tailored care plan is developed for each child to deal with his  specific circumstances.  The care plan focuses on therapy for emotional and mental healing; activities for physical and relationship building; and education to address learning challenges and prepare them for age-appropriate schooling.

LIFE-LONG FRIENDSHIPS AND INDIVIDUALIZED CARE

Each boy child is partnered with a caregiver, called a "primary," who becomes a surrogate parent. Children begin to learn how to trust adults, cope in a family setting, and understand the appropriate parent-child relationship. The professional and caring staff provides the parental nurturing and support they were deprived of for years. After living with other boys and girls, the children often form life-long friendships with each other. This bond helps children cope with their day-to-day struggles.

RECREATION AND ACTIVITIES

Located on a 14 acres land in Kajiado County Kenya, Country area, the home is filled with fun and interactive activities for the kids to enjoy. We have plans to develop a fully equipped recreation centre with a basketball court, a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis court, soccer field, school, library, chapel, vocational education centre, and playground. Through our centre recreation and activities department, each child is encouraged to participate in a variety of activities to develop team-building skills and encourage physical fitness. And, our spiritual life program also encourages children to develop their belief system.

It is our goal to involve our residential children in community-wide activities.  Whether they are interested in piano, sports, arts and crafts, or science, we allow them to explore their passion.  Some of the children are involved with community baseball teams, civic clubs, children’s groups, and much more.

EDUCATION AND LEARNING

Hawa Children’s Home property is managed by hawa board of the PCEA St Andrews Church Nairobi Kenya,   this 14 acres plus property is exclusively dedicated to our boys to utilise it in all ways possible initiating sustainable projects in education, agriculture, hospitality and recreation.  Nearly all kids in hawa will attend this specialized school of physical, spiritual, mental wellbeing and all its activities.  Because our children have not previously attended school regularly due to their past. However, inclusion to schooling helps them began to understand the importance of education.

The in house continued educational program is operated by volunteers some retired teachers and is the catalyst for giving our children the opportunity to succeed through education. The school curriculum in schools engaged to our children allows them to learn at their own pace and provides more opportunity for teachers to give more attentive, hands-on learning.

At the hawa children’s home, all of our kids will have the enjoyment of attending school off campus with their community peers!
